Opening Hearts in Scarborough: A Conversation on Worshipping One God

The IERA Scarborough Team recently held an inspiring street dawah session in the city of Scarborough, Canada. The day was filled with meaningful conversations, including one that stood out for its sincerity and impact.

During the session, a brother engaged in a heartfelt discussion with a Hindu man who believed in one God but also in various demigods. With kindness and clarity, the brother explained that gratitude and worship must be directed to the Creator alone, not to beings created by human hands that can neither harm nor benefit us. He illustrated this with a simple example: just as a child should show gratitude to their own mother who raised them, our true gratitude must go to Allah, the One who created and sustains us.

This reasoning resonated deeply with the man, and his heart began to open to the reality of worshipping Allah without partners. His interest grew further when he learned that Muslims also believe in Adam (عليه السلام), Jesus (عليه السلام), and many of the same prophets revered in Christianity. The brother then introduced him to the final messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and shared a booklet about Islam’s last message.

Alhamdulillah, the man left with a sincere desire to learn more about Islam. We ask Allah to guide him further, grant him clarity, and keep us steadfast in sharing His message with wisdom and sincerity. Ameen.
