Mr. Peter Khanja, living in a village where Islam was little known, was curious to learn more about it when iERA duat came to his village. However, he was not courageous enough to attend the classes in person.
“What will people say if they see me attending Islamic classes? Everyone in this village knows how strong my faith is as a Christian.
However, he didn’t want to lose the opportunity to learn, so he asked his wife to report back on what she was learning from the iERA classes.
One day, his wife reported something that struck his heart, prompting him to meet the duat privately.
It was the translation of Surah Al-Ikhlas that his wife reported on this particular day.
“Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
He does not beget, nor is He begotten;
And there is none like unto Him”
When he met the duat, he asked for a clarification of the surah, and they took the opportunity to introduce Tawheed (the oneness of God) to him.
This wasn’t easy, as he had always believed that Jesus is God and the son of God, a teaching which Surah Al-Ikhlas condemns strongly.
However, by the end of the day, the burden in the brother’s chest was lifted, and he accepted Islam, along with his wife.
