This is an inspiration story of a young man and his life as a Muslim.
He comes from an Islamic background but things took a turn when his father passed on. He was left just with his mother and three siblings. His mother was a Muslim convert. She learnt Islam and became a practical Muslim.
She was the only Muslim in her family so was his father. Hence, when his father passed on, it became hard for him and the family to remain on Islam because they were taken under the care of his uncle who was a devoted catholic.
He did not allow them to practice Islam in his house. Whenever, they tried to resist he could ask them to leave his place and take refuge elsewhere. So for the sake of peace they all left the fold of Islam and adhered to the uncle as he instructed.
Despite all this, the young man still kept his Islamic belief alive and still burning inside him. Fortunately, one day while taking a walk he saw the iERA Zambia team doing our dawah by a table when he came over just to see the products we were having because to him it looked like we were selling books.
To his surprise, we were giving out free literature and sharing the word of Islam all he had to do was to give us just a few minutes of his time. With an already burning heart about returning to Islam the brother took this as an opportunity to revert.
It was not a hard decision for him to make. However, we also took the opportunity to explain to the brother the importance of being a Muslim despite the situation one might go through. He expressed how life was so hard after his father’s death and having not learnt much about Islam it was not that hard for him to turn to Christianity.
He was convinced that we all worshipped the same one God. However, all he wanted was to be Muslim again and meeting the iERA team provided the best platform for him to return to his father’s and his childhood religion. He commended iERA for the good job we are doing and prayed that Allah would make it easy for us.
As we speak right now the brother is a full time Muslim and very eager and dedicated to learning more about Islam.
