Sister Stella Dowesi is from Phalombe. She was born and raised in a Christian family, and her parents were members of the Four Square Church. Since childhood, Stella practiced Christianity and followed the religion of her family. Her life changed about four months ago when an IERA Dawah team began conducting Dawah classes in her village. Stella attended the classes and listened carefully to the teachings about Islam.
As she learned more about Islam, Stella came to understand the Islamic belief that Jesus (peace be upon him) was a prophet of God and not God Himself. She was also impressed by the modest way Muslim women dress and the respect they receive in Islam. After learning and reflecting on these teachings, Stella decided to a

ccept Islam and took her Shahadah. She made this decision because she believed that Islam was the right path for her to follow.
When her parents discovered that Stella had become a Muslim, they were unhappy with her decision. They rejected her choice and even wished that bad things would happen to her because she was the only Muslim in the family. Despite this pressure, Stella remained firm in her faith. She continued practicing Islam while treating her parents with respect and showing them patience and good behavior.
Over time, Stella’s parents began to notice the positive changes in their daughter. They saw her good character, respect, patience, and peaceful way of living. Eventually, they accepted her decision and allowed her to remain a Muslim.
