In 2023, a village chief embraced Islam after the iERA dawah team visited his village. The team approached him respectfully and asked for permission to conduct dawah classes in the community. The chief welcomed them and gladly granted permission. After seeing many people gathering to attend the classes, he became curious about what they were learning and decided to attend the classes himself.
As he began attending the lessons, the chief started reflecting on what he had previously believed about Islam. Before the classes, he had viewed Islam as a bad religion and believed that Muslims did not believe in Jesus. However, as he listened to the teachings, he discovered that Muslims believe in Jesus and respect him as one of the prophets of Allah. This helped him realize that some of the things he had believed about Islam were based on misunderstandings.
With each lesson, his understanding of Islam continued to grow. He became more interested in the teachings and started seeing Islam in a completely different way. The misconceptions he had carried for a long time began to disappear, and his heart became open to the message of Islam. He did not hesitate to make his decision and took his Shahadah, embracing Islam.
When he returned home, the chief told his wife that he had become a Muslim. She did not receive the news well and decided not to follow his choice. However, when his children heard that their father had become Muslim, they also decided to embrace Islam. Although his wife did not join them, the chief remained firm in his faith and continued his journey as a Muslim, grateful that the dawah classes had helped him discover a new understanding of Islam.
