[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n a small and quiet village where the echoes of the Adhan mingled with the sounds of everyday life, we encountered a remarkable soul. Dyosabel, now known as Anissa, embraced Islam and successfully completed iERA’s 7-day Salah workshop under the guidance of one of our Outreach Specialists in 2021.
Two years have passed since that transformative moment. At 29 years old, Anissa is the beating heart of our New Muslim community in Pampanga, offering solace to those who seek it. But her journey has not been easy. With just 100 pesos a day and the occasional blessing of 300 pesos, Anissa had to provide for her two children and support her husband’s recent recovery from drug addiction.
When we asked her what kept her going, she responded with a radiant smile, “My faith in Allah.”
