In a small town, an elderly man, dedicated to his work as an auto mechanic, quietly worked from his home to support his family. Little did anyone know, this hard-working man was about to embark on a journey that would change his life forever.
At over 80 years old, he had spent much of his life faithfully attending church and living within the boundaries of his long-established beliefs. Yet, after hearing about Islam for the first time, he was struck by a deep sense of wonder. “How could I have never heard about this before?” he asked himself. What particularly moved him was the understanding of as-Salat, the practice of worshiping God through prayer – something he had never encountered in such a meaningful way.
His life was centered around his work and providing for his family, which consisted of his devoted wife and daughter. His wife, who attended daily classes at the madrasa and never missed a Friday Jumu’ah prayer, was a key part of this transformation. The man revealed, “When my wife comes back from class, she explains everything she learns to me and to the point that I, too, start seeing the wisdom in it.”
Despite his commitment to his work, he expressed that his wife’s dedication to learning and sharing her knowledge had inspired him to consider starting his own lessons.
