Mamelita Onesmo was an adult woman who carried many deep questions about life and the correct way to worship God. Her search for truth led her to read the Qur’an translated into Swahili and to regularly follow Islamic lectures. Through this learning process, she came to recognize the truth, justice, and importance of worshipping Almighty Allah alone, without any partners.
By the will of Allah, her heart was opened to Islam. This reflects the meaning of Allah’s words in Surah Az-Zumar (39:22), which state that the one whose chest Allah opens to Islam is upon a light from their Lord. With growing clarity and conviction, she felt drawn toward the message of Tawheed.
Later, she met a youth from iERA who invited her to Islam with wisdom and good manners. Since she was already familiar with Islamic teachings through lectures and Qur’an study, understanding and accepting the truth became easy for her.
Finally, by her own free choice, she took the Shahada and entered Islam. Through this step, she found peace in her heart and a new, meaningful direction in her life, guided by faith and certainty.
