Emmanuel Lapuken embraced Islam four months ago. Before accepting Islam, he was a Christian who believed that worshiping on Sunday was enough. He often asked Muslims why they prayed every day, especially five times a day. He thought praying so often would keep people busy and not enjoying life. Muslims explained to him that Salah (prayer) is one of the five pillars of Islam and that every Muslim is commanded by Allah to pray every day.
One day, an iERA dawah team visited Emmanuel’s village and invited people to attend a dawah class. Emmanuel decided to join the class. During the lesson, the outreach specialist explained the Oneness of Allah (Tawheed), teaching that Allah created mankind to worship Him alone. He explained that our main purpose in life is to worship Allah and that Allah has shown us the correct way to worship Him through His guidance.
Emmanuel then asked, “How should we worship Allah? In Christianity, we usually gather on Sunday, and most of the time we sing rather than pray. You said Allah has shown us how to worship Him.” The outreach specialist answered his questions in detail, explaining the importance of the five daily prayers and how they help Muslims remember and obey Allah every day. Emmanuel carefully listened and reflected on the answers he received.
After understanding the message, Emmanuel realized that Islam provides clear guidance on how to worship Allah. He felt that Islam was the true path and decided to embrace it. Since accepting Islam four months ago, he has been learning and performing his daily prayers with gratitude, thankful that Allah guided him to Islam.
