Chief Kachingwe from Neno grew up following the Catholic Church. One day, he heard that an iERA dawah team was conducting dawah classes in a neighboring village. As the days passed, the team also came to his village to hold the same classes. Before starting, they visited his home to ask for permission, and since he already knew them, he gladly allowed them to conduct the dawah sessions.
As he observed the team, Chief Kachingwe became interested in their character and the way they dressed. He noticed that the Muslim women dressed modestly by covering their bodies, and the Muslim men wore thobes. Their good manners and respectful conduct impressed him, and he became eager to learn more about Islam by attending the dawah classes.
As he continued listening to the lessons, Chief Kachingwe realized that many of the things he had heard about Islam in the past were not true. He came to understand the message of Islam and decided to embrace the faith. After accepting Islam, he publicly announced to the people in his village that he had reverted to Islam.
Chief Kachingwe’s decision also inspired members of his family, who willingly embraced Islam after seeing his example. He encouraged the outreach specialist to continue teaching people about Islam so that others, like him, could learn the truth. He said that before attending the dawah classes, he had thought Islam was a bad religion, but after learning about it, he discovered its true teachings and was grateful that Allah had guided him to Islam.
