In a joint effort to strengthen the Prophetic mission of spreading Da’wah, iERA Uganda, in collaboration with the Imam Development Program (IDP), organized a one-day intensive Imam training that drew participants from across Eastern Uganda. The event aimed toempower Imams with the skills, knowledge, and spiritual insight needed to spread Da’wah in their communities.
Held under the theme “Reviving Effective Da’wah for a Stronger Muslim Community,” the training brought together respected Muslim leaders and frontline Imams committed to enhancing the quality and impact of da’wah within their communities.
Addressing the gathering, Brother Akram, the iERA Uganda Education Officer, encouraged Imams not to limit their role to leading prayers alone. He emphasized the importance of embracing Da’wah as a daily responsibility calling people back to Islam with wisdom, compassion, and sincerity.
He reminded them of the Qur’anic principle of self-transformation, quoting the verse:
“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves.” (Qur’an 13:11)

Brother Mwache Habiibu Abubakar, Program Coordinator at IDP, echoed these sentiments by highlighting the noble nature of Da’wah. He noted that Da’wah is rooted in both the Qur’an and Sunnah and forms the moral foundation of a united Muslim community.
Closing the presentations, Brother Akram delivered a powerful reminder that an Imam must be a living example of Islamic values: truthful, trustworthy, disciplined, and morally consistent. Good character, he said, remains the most effective form of Da’wah.
He noted that throughout history, many people embraced Islam not after hearing lectures, but after witnessing the upright conduct of Muslims.
The training concluded with the awarding of certificates to participating Imams, symbolizing their readiness to enhance Da’wah efforts within their communities.
