In the peaceful village under Welemu Group Village Headman Njaiti, Traditional Authority Ndalama in Thyolo District, lives Mrs. Julita Leonard — a woman whose journey to truth is both inspiring and humbling.
For many years, Mrs. Julita was devoted to her prayers. Every morning and evening, she would raise her hands to God, asking for blessings, guidance, and relief from her struggles. Yet, she often felt that her prayers were not being answered. She belonged to the Church of Christ and could not understand why her pleas seemed to go unheard.
One day, she attended our da’wah educational sessions, where we discussed the purpose of worship, the conditions of accepted prayers, and the true meaning of connecting with the Creator. As she listened, she began to realize that many of her past practices were based on habits rather than knowledge.
She was especially touched when she learned that cleanliness is half of faith — something she had never been taught before. The idea that purity of the body, clothing, and place of prayer are essential for worship deeply moved her. She also discovered the difference between thanking Allah and supplicating to Him, something she had always confused.
Despite facing discouragement from some people in her community who wanted her to abandon her new learning, Mrs. Julita remained determined. Her heart was seeking the truth, and she wanted to understand why her prayers had not been answered all along.
In her search for truth and out of sincere conviction, she finally embraced Islam — realizing that the way she had been worshipping before was not the correct path to reaching the Creator.
During our da’wah graduation ceremony, Mrs. Julita stood and shared heartfelt words of encouragement. She expressed her gratitude to Allah for sending the da’wah team to her village, saying that through our efforts, she found the truth and the peace she had long been searching for.
She concluded by reminding everyone that Islam is the true and peaceful religion — the only path that will be accepted by Allah on the Day of Judgment.
