Pondani Thamangisa comes from Kazembe Village in Phalombe District. For many years, he was a committed member of the Church of Christ. He practiced Christianity faithfully and followed its teachings as he had been taught. However, as time passed, Pondani began to reflect deeply on matters of life, death, and worship.
One of the first things that touched his heart was how Islam handles death. He observed that when a Muslim passes away, the deceased is not placed in an expensive coffin. Instead, the body is respectfully carried in a janazah and buried in a simple manner. This practice showed him that Islam honors human dignity without placing unnecessary financial pressure on the family.

He also noticed that in many communities, families are left with debts after a death because money is collected to buy a coffin for the deceased. In Islam, Pondani learned, this burden does not exist. The religion does not allow people to be forced into debt in the name of burial. This taught him that Islam is a religion of mercy, fairness, and social responsibility.
After accepting Islam, Pondani began learning how to worship Allah correctly. He learned the true meaning of Ṣalāh — praying sincerely, humbly, and directly to the Creator. He realized that many people pray while seated or without full submission. In Christianity, he observed that worship does not involve placing the face on the ground in humility before God.
In Islam, however, prayer requires the believer to stand, bow, and prostrate, placing the forehead on the ground as a sign of complete submission to Allah. When Pondani experienced this form of worship, it deeply affected him. He felt humility, sincerity, and a strong connection with Allah that he had never felt before.
Through learning and reflection, Pondani became fully convinced that Islam is the true religion of worship. His heart found peace in its teachings, and his faith became firm and unshakable. He understood that worship in Islam is not based on human traditions but on guidance from Allah.
Today, Pondani has a powerful message for anyone who is sincerely searching for the truth. He believes that the best form of worship is Islam. Even if people insult Islam or try to discourage him, he will never return to his previous beliefs. He stands firm and confident in his identity as a Muslim.
Pondani Thamangisa has chosen Islam with knowledge, understanding, and conviction. His journey is a reminder that guidance comes from Allah, and when the truth reaches the heart, it brings clarity and peace.
We ask Allah to keep him steadfast, increase him in knowledge, strengthen his faith, and guide him until the end of his life. Āmīn.
