Paul’s unexpected interest: A Shared Journey

It was a typical day of Street Dawah—meeting strangers, sharing the message of Islam, and hoping to touch a heart. As we stood in the bustling street, engaging with passersby, a man walked past us with a hurried pace. Something about him made us reach out.

“Sir, can we share something with you quickly?” we asked.

He hesitated, checking his watch, before nodding. “We don’t have much time,” he said.

That was enough for us.

We spoke swiftly, introducing Islam in the simplest and most direct way possible. Despite his rush, he listened intently, nodding at times, his brows furrowing in thought. There was no sign of resistance, no hint of skepticism—just a genuine curiosity, an eagerness to understand.

As the conversation unfolded, his hurried posture eased, and his interest grew. Here was a man with limited time, yet he was willing to give Islam his attention.

When we asked if we could continue the discussion later, he surprised us. “Sure,” he said, taking out his phone and sharing his contact details.

That moment, small as it seemed, held significance. It wasn’t just about exchanging numbers; it was about an open door, an invitation to deeper discussions, a chance for guidance.

Then, before parting ways, something unexpected happened. He smiled, pulled out his phone, and said, “Let’s take a selfie.”

We laughed. Though he was noticeably taller than us, he lowered himself slightly, and we captured the moment—a snapshot of an unexpected encounter, a conversation that might one day change a life.

As he walked away, we felt a sense of hope. Sometimes, all it takes is a moment—a single pause in a busy life—for the truth to reach a heart
