Idrissa Filnano grew up in a Christian family and never imagined that one day he would become a Muslim. In his early years, he strongly disliked Islam because of the false stories he had heard. He looked down on Muslims and believed everything negative people said about them.
Everything began to change when the OS from iERA visited his village to conduct dawah. Their teachings were filled with wisdom and clarity, and Idrissa found himself drawn to what they were explaining. This sparked a deep interest in him.
While he was in Standard 8, Idrissa’s desire to learn more about Islam grew stronger. One afternoon, after knocking off from school, he went to a place where a Sheikh was teaching about Islam. Idrissa listened carefully as the Sheikh explained the beliefs and teachings of Islam in detail.
It was at that moment that Idrissa realized that many things he had previously believed were lies — such as the claim that Muslims cut open the stomachs of the dead. He discovered that none of these stories were true.
Right then, he accepted Islam as the truth and made the decision to become a Muslim. Even though his Christian parents stopped paying his school fees because of his choice, Idrissa remained firm and did not turn back. Allah supported him in new ways. The Muslims he met encouraged him to pray, strengthened him, and welcomed him with kindness.
Accepting Islam brought new understanding, peace, and a new community into Idrissa’s life.
His Message to Those Who Are Not Yet MuslimIdrissa encourages people to learn about Islam before forming judgments. He advises them to seek proper knowledge, ask questions, and find evidence for anything that brings doubt. He believes that with sincerity, Allah will guide anyone to the truth.
