As excitement around the World Cup brought people together, it also created a unique opportunity to share a message far greater than the game itself. Volunteers across Downtown Toronto and at the Toronto Islamic Centre took to the streets with a simple question: “What’s your goal?”
What began as conversations about football soon developed into deeper discussions about life, purpose, success, and our relationship with our Creator. This simple approach encouraged many people to pause, reflect, and openly explore questions about faith and the meaning of life.
Throughout the outreach, volunteers engaged with members of the public in thoughtful conversations, distributed Qur’ans and Islamic literature, and invited people to learn more about Islam. The program continued with a well-attended session at the Toronto Islamic Centre, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and continue the discussions in a welcoming environment.
By the mercy of Allah, these sincere efforts resulted in 11 people embracing Islam and taking their shahadah. Alhamdulillah.
Every dawah conversation is a reminder that guidance belongs to Allah alone. A single question, a kind interaction, or a thoughtful discussion can become the means through which someone discovers the truth.
May Allah keep our new brothers and sisters steadfast upon Islam, accept the efforts of every volunteer, and continue to guide many more hearts through sincere dawah. Ameen.
