In Colombia, Esther’s story is one of patience, sincere searching, and a heart that never stopped seeking guidance.
She was raised in a Christian home, where from a young age her mother would take her to gatherings of Jehovah’s Witnesses. At just 16, Esther was baptised and even became a preacher. Yet deep within, something did not feel right. Questions lingered—quiet but persistent.
For more than 13 years, Esther continued to turn to God, asking for guidance toward the truth. Although she did not belong to any particular religious group during that time, she maintained her belief in God. She would pray in her own way, even if she felt unsure how to do it correctly. What mattered to her was that she knew God existed—she just needed to find His path.

Her turning point came through social media. One day, she came across a live stream where Muslim speakers were discussing Islam. Curious and open, she began asking questions. Their kind and thoughtful responses encouraged her, and they eventually shared with her the location of a mosque in Barranquilla, inviting her to visit.
When Esther arrived at the mosque, she noticed something striking—a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses stood right next door. But this did not shake her resolve. Instead, she recalls feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness just to have reached the mosque.
There, she met a sister from the iERA team in Colombia who would become a key support in her journey. Through her guidance, Esther found clarity, encouragement, and a sense of direction. She speaks with deep gratitude about this support, recognizing how essential it was in helping her move forward.
From that point on, Esther describes experiencing a strong “spiritual hunger.” She was eager to learn—to understand the Qur’an, to know more about God, and to fully grasp the teachings of Islam. Her desire for knowledge grew stronger with each passing day.
In February 2026, Esther embraced Islam and pronounced her Shahada. She describes that moment as the most beautiful experience of her life—one filled with immense joy, deep happiness, and a sense of peace that touched her both physically and spiritually in a way she had never known before.
Today, as she continues on her journey, Esther reflects on her new life with gratitude and awe. In her words, “I never tire of how beautiful it is to be a Muslim.”
