Accra Technical University has witnessed another story of faith and transformation. For Michael, a student whose quiet hope had long been “to accept Islam one day,” that dream became reality after a conversation with brothers from iERA Ghana.
A Dream Waiting for a Door
Michael wasn’t raised Muslim. But for months he’d been curious about Islam. He would watch, listen, and ask small questions to Muslim friends on campus. “I always felt there was something missing,” he later shared. “Islam looked like peace, discipline, and purpose. I wanted that for myself.”
Like many students at Accra Technical University, Michael was focused on his studies, exams, and future. Yet in the background, his heart kept returning to the same question: What is the truth about God and purpose?
The Conversation That Changed Everything
That question met an answer when members of iERA Ghana the Islamic Education & Research Academy set up a da’wah stall on campus. iERA brothers are known for calm, respectful conversations about the message of Islam, using reason, evidence, and compassion.

The brothers sat with Michael. They didn’t rush him. They listened to his doubts, explained Tawheed the oneness of God and showed him how the message of the Prophets from Adam to Muhammad is one continuous call to worship Allah alone.
For Michael, it clicked. The concept of one God, with no partners, made sense. The purpose of life to know and worship the Creator answered the emptiness he’d felt. The brothers explained the 5 Pillars, the beauty of prayer, and what it means to submit to Allah.
“Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah”
“I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
Those few words marked his rebirth. The brothers welcomed him with smiles, du’a, and hugs and was gifted a copy of the Qur’an in English and his first prayer mat.
“I feel light,” Michael said after. “Like a weight I carried for years is gone. This is what I was looking for.
A New Journey Begins
Michael’s acceptance of Islam is just the beginning. The iERA Ghana team connected him with Muslim students at ATU for support, lessons on prayer, and a community to grow with.
His story is a reminder that guidance comes when the heart is ready and sincere. As Allah says in the Qur’an: “And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him” [Qur’an 65:3].
Today Michael, is learning how to pray, and His dream didn’t just come true, it opened a new path.
May Allah keep Michael firm on the truth, make him a source of goodness, and bless iERA Ghana for their sincere da’wah work.
