A Garden Conversation That Changed Hearts

One day during a door-to-door , the outreach specialist met a family in their garden while they were harvesting groundnuts. As he approached them, before he could even start talking, they asked him, “Are you Muslim? Have you come here to convert us to stop worshiping our God, Jesus? Do you want us to bow to Muhammad, the one we heard died and his body was eaten by a pig?” The question showed they were worried and had heard many things that confused them.

The outreach specialist stayed calm and respectful and began explaining. He told them about the oneness of Allah, saying that Allah sent prophets to people with one message: to worship Allah alone. He explained that Jesus is a prophet, not God, and not the son of God. He also explained that Muhammad is a prophet just like Jesus, sent to guide people. Then he clarified to them that the story about Muhammad being eaten by an animal was not true, but something people misunderstood or said wrongly.

The sisters listened carefully and started to understand. They said maybe these were just lies people tell to make Islam look like a bad religion. The outreach specialist continued explaining in a simple way, answering their questions and helping them see the truth clearly. Their hearts began to change as they understood the message better.

By the end of the conversation, the whole family felt peaceful and happy with what they had learned. They said they now understood Islam better and no longer believed the wrong things they had heard before. All of them showed a desire to turn to the religion of Islam, and the outreach specialist left them feeling thankful, while they continued harvesting their groundnuts with new understanding.
