Samson Ntota from Phalombe, a man who spent much of his life searching for the truth by moving from one church to another—almost five different religions. Although he was deeply interested in learning about religion, he never considered Islam. In his mind, Islam was a bad religion because of the rumors he had heard from people, including claims that it was a terrorist religion. Because of this, he avoided learning about it and continued practicing Christianity. However, he often felt that his faith was not strong enough in his heart, especially since every church he attended had different beliefs, even though they all called themselves Christian. This confusion continued to trouble him.

One day, an iERA dawah team visited his area doing door-to-door outreach. They asked him if he had heard about Islam before. He replied, “Yes—isn’t that the religion that kills people? Are you here to kill people as well?” The outreach specialist calmly responded, “No, brother. Islam is a religion like Christianity. We are here in your village to teach people about Islam, and we are holding classes every day. You are welcome to attend.” Samson agreed, saying he would come and see for himself whether they were good people.
The next day, he attended the class. The outreach specialist was teaching about how the prophets used to pray. This caught Samson’s attention. He learned that all prophets prayed by bowing, and that even Jesus prayed in this way. This idea stayed in his mind and made him think deeply. Later, he decided to attend an Islamic prayer himself. As he observed Muslims praying by bowing, it made sense to him. He felt that Muslims were following the true way of the prophets.
From that moment, Samson embraced Islam and said he wanted to die as a Muslim. When people in his community saw that he had accepted Islam, some of them began to hate and criticize him. However, he would respond by saying, “Try it for yourself, and you will see the truth.”
