Chief Rose Moren from Saidi Village said she embraced Islam one month ago. The dawah team from iERA invited her and her village people to attend Islamic classes. On the first day of the classes, which was a Sunday, she was in church. Then she remembered that the dawah classes were starting in her village. She left the church service and went to attend the Islamic class. The church members asked her where she was going, reminding her that as a pastor’s wife she should wait until the service ended. She responded that she was going to attend the Islamic dawah class. That day, she learned a lot about Jesus, that he is a prophet and not God, and that all messengers were sent to share the message of worshiping one Creator, Allah. From that moment, she started developing interest in Islam.

When she returned home, her husband asked her why she attended the Islamic class. She explained that, as a chief, she needed to show unity in her village by welcoming everyone. At the same time, she was becoming interested in Islamic teachings. She also questioned why they enter church with shoes as if it is a holy place, and she openly said she was interested in embracing Islam.
This led to an argument. Her husband, who was a pastor, told her she could not become Muslim and said that if she wanted to do so, they should divorce. She replied that she is an adult and if she died, she wanted to die believing in the true God, not what she considered false beliefs. The husband then left and went to inform her uncle that he wanted a divorce. Despite the elders trying to reconcile them, the separation happened. He later removed all his belongings from the house.
After that, Chief Rose remained firm, saying by Allah’s will she would survive. From then on, people in her village, including her children, began to support her. Later, when she was going for Jumu’ah, she met her husband’s friend, a pastor, who asked her why she embraced Islam. She replied that what he had heard was true—she is now a Muslim. She also said that when she looks at them, she sees them as people walking without the truth.
