In the heart of Nampinga Village, under Group Village Headman Nampinga, Traditional Authority Kaduya in Phalombe District, Allah opened the door of guidance for a young woman whose life would be transformed through patience, knowledge, and sincere da‘wah.
Dalitso Moyo grew up in a Seventh-day Adventist family, surrounded by Christian teachings and traditions. Although she was raised with a belief in God, she had little understanding of true monotheism and the concept of worshipping Allah alone. Like many people, she followed what she inherited without deeply questioning its foundations.
Her journey toward Islam began when Outreach Specialists visited her village as part of a da‘wah program that continued consistently over a period of three months. Unlike brief visits, these repeated sessions allowed relationships to form and understanding to grow. Through regular lessons, open discussions, and patient explanations, the message of Islam was shared in a clear and respectful manner.
During these sessions, Dalitso listened carefully and asked questions. She was introduced to the concept of Tawheed, learning that Allah truly exists, that He is One, and that He has no partners or children. She learned that Jesus (peace be upon him) is not the son of God, but a noble messenger sent to guide mankind. These teachings challenged what she had believed before, but they also answered questions that had long remained unresolved in her heart.
As her understanding grew, Dalitso joined the New Muslims Mentorship Program, where she received structured guidance on the basics of Islam. Through this program, she learned about prayer, character, patience, and reliance on Allah. Each lesson strengthened her faith and increased her confidence, replacing uncertainty with clarity and peace.
With time, Dalitso made the courageous decision to embrace Islam. This choice was not easy, as it meant stepping away from familiar traditions and facing possible rejection. Indeed, after her conversion, some people mocked her and questioned her decision. Despite this, Dalitso remained firm. Her faith did not waver, and her trust in Allah only grew stronger.
The transformation in her life became clearly visible. Dalitso developed a strong sense of discipline, punctuality, and responsibility. She became a positive example among other new Muslims, inspiring them through her conduct rather than her words alone. Her behavior reflected the beauty of Islam and showed how faith shapes character.
What stands out most about Dalitso is her eagerness to share knowledge. Even though she considers herself a learner, she practices the prophetic teaching: “Convey from me, even if it is one verse.” She shares whatever she has learned with her friends and relatives, gently inviting them to reflect on the truth.
Dalitso has firmly declared that she will never look back. She is committed to continuing her Islamic education and growing in knowledge until the end of her life, seeking Allah’s pleasure in every step she takes.
Her story is a powerful reminder that guidance comes from Allah alone, and that when knowledge is shared with wisdom and patience, hearts can change. Dalitso Moyo’s journey stands as an inspiration for many, especially young women searching for truth and purpose.
