Sister Violet grew up practicing Christianity and was a member of the Nazarene Church. She had followed the Christian faith for many years without thinking about changing her religion. One day, the IERA Dawah Team visited her village to conduct Dawah activities. During a door-to-door visit, an outreach specialist met her and invited her to attend the Dawah classes. She promised to attend, and on the second day, she joined the class.
Sister Violet continued attending the Dawah classes for more than a week. With every lesson, she learned more about Islam, and the teachings began to make sense to her. As her understanding increased, she became interested in Islam and felt convinced by what she was learning. She eventually decided to take her Shahadah and embrace Islam.
When she returned home, Sister Violet did not tell anyone that she had become a Muslim. However, as the days passed, people began noticing that she was wearing the hijab. This made her family realize that she had embraced Islam. They began saying negative and hurtful things to her because of her decision, and even some people outside her family spoke badly about her.
Despite all the opposition, Sister Violet remained firm in her decision. She said, “I cannot leave Islam just to make people happy. I will still choose Islam as my religion.”
