The afternoon streets were busy as volunteers from iERA continued their mission of sharing the message of Islam with people from different walks of life. Among the crowd was Mike, a 29-year-old man carrying many unanswered questions about life, purpose, and faith. Curious and open-minded, he stopped when the da‘ees warmly greeted him and invited him into a conversation.
What began as a simple discussion soon turned into a deep and thoughtful exchange. Mike asked about God, the purpose of human existence, and whether there was truly one path that led to salvation. The da‘ees patiently listened and explained the core teachings of Islam — belief in one Creator, accountability in the Hereafter, and the guidance brought by all the prophets from Adam to Muhammad (peace be upon them all).
As the conversation continued, Mike asked an important question: “Can Islam really save me from the Hellfire?”

The da‘ees explained that Islam teaches complete submission to the Creator alone and that every prophet called people to worship God sincerely. They spoke about how prophets such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them) prayed with humility, bowed in worship, and devoted their lives to obeying God, acts Muslims continue to practice today.
Mike listened attentively. The message felt clear, simple, and deeply connected to the truth he had been searching for. Piece by piece, his doubts faded, replaced by certainty and peace.
After a long moment of reflection, Mike looked at the da‘ees and said softly,“I’m ready.”
With smiles and encouragement, the da‘ees guided him through the Shahadah:“Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah.”“I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
The atmosphere became emotional as Mike officially embraced Islam. Wanting a new identity connected to his new faith, he chose the name Abdul Rahim, meaning Servant of the Most Merciful.
What started as an ordinary encounter on a busy day became a life-changing journey — a story of questions, sincerity, and spiritual transformation.
