In the interest of having more impact for the dawah, we engaged with our stakeholders(Mosque leaders) at the venue of the street dawah to grant us permission to set up a table and display our dawah materials for more engagement. They obliged and approved our request.
When we set up our table for the outreach, inquiring faces began to walk past. One of those faces was the young man pictured below. He was about to pass but was stopped on his track by the English translation of the Qur’an. He looked for a while, then we invited him to pick one. Immediately, we tried to open the Qur’an with careful curiosity. His heart was slowly wondering.
When he opened it, he picked it up and began to read it, like someone who found a long lost treasure. He stood there for a minute deep introspecting into the book. We asked him if he would like to accept it from us as a gift, the shock on his face was scintillating. With little to no hesitation, he picked it up and continued reading. Allahu Akbar.
His attention was more on the Qur’an and little to no attention to our effort to converse with him. It was as though the Qur’an captivated his heart. With this we allowed him with the Qur’an as a definite compass for his heart.
