As part of the Vancouver Trip 2026 campaign, a special dawah training session was held in collaboration with the University of British Columbia Muslim Students’ Association (UBC MSA) on May 1, 2026.
The training brought together students and community members eager to strengthen their ability to share the message of Islam with wisdom, confidence, and compassion. Throughout the session, participants explored practical approaches to engaging in meaningful dawah conversations and learned how to connect the teachings of Islam to the real-life questions and challenges people face today.
The program covered key themes essential to effective dawah, including how to initiate thoughtful conversations, present compelling arguments for the truth of Islam and the Qur’an, and communicate the message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with sincerity and clarity. Emphasis was placed not only on conveying information but also on embodying the character and compassion that are central to successful dawah.
One of the most valuable aspects of the event was the opportunity for participants to put their learning into practice. Following the training, attendees took part in a street dawah session, where they engaged with members of the wider community and experienced firsthand the rewards and challenges of sharing Islam in a public setting.
For many participants, this practical experience reinforced the lessons learned during the training and helped build confidence in communicating Islam effectively. It also served as a reminder that dawah is not merely about presenting facts, but about connecting with people, understanding their perspectives, and conveying the message with genuine care and sincerity.
Events such as these play an important role in developing the next generation of callers to Islam, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to share the truth in an increasingly complex world.
