The IERA Brampton Team recently held a street dawah session in Brampton, Canada. The gathering created an opportunity for meaningful conversations with members of the community about the message of Islam.
During the session, one of the brothers engaged in a discussion with Shoun, who came from a Christian background. Their conversation began with greetings before moving to the subject of the Qur’an. The brother invited Shoun to read the first chapter and explained how Allah is the Most Merciful, without any partners, and that all of humanity will stand before Him on the Day of Judgment.
The discussion then turned to Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him). The brother asked, “What do you know about Jesus? Is he a messenger, God, or the son of God?” After reflecting, Shoun responded that Jesus was a messenger.
Building on this understanding, the brother explained how every messenger carried the same message of worshipping Allah alone, and he introduced Shoun to the final messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Moved by the clarity of the message, Shoun was ready to embrace Islam and took his shahada that day.
