Street Dawah Report – Mississauga
During a street dawah outreach in Mississauga, the iERA team had a meaningful conversation with a man from an Indian Hindu background who expressed an interest in learning more about Islam.
After a warm introduction, he shared that he had been curious about the Qur’an, although he did not actively practise Hinduism. The conversation began with the most fundamental teaching of Islam: Tawheed — the belief in the Oneness of Allah, the One True Creator, who has no partners or intermediaries.
The du‘at also explained that Allah sent Prophets and Messengers to different nations throughout history, bringing guidance and inviting humanity to worship Him alone.

As the discussion developed, the topic turned to the purpose of life. He reflected on why human beings exist and whether life could truly be without meaning. This provided an opportunity to explain the Islamic understanding that humanity was created to worship Allah, and that worship extends beyond religious rituals to encompass every aspect of daily life.
Although he was interested in reading the Qur’an, he mentioned having heard that Hindus were not permitted to touch it. The team addressed his concern, and when he expressed a preference for something smaller to begin with, they provided him with a booklet introducing Islam and explaining the message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Alhamdulillah, he appreciated the booklet and showed further interest by asking about mosques in his local area, expressing a desire to visit and observe how Muslims perform their prayers.
A Small Step Towards Greater Understanding
This encounter was a reminder of how a simple conversation can open doors to learning and reflection. His curiosity about the Qur’an, questions about life’s purpose, and interest in visiting a mosque were encouraging steps towards discovering Islam.
May Allah guide him to the truth, open his heart to Islam, and make this encounter a means of lasting guidance. Ameen.
