Maxwell Banda met the iERA dawah team while they were conducting outreach in his area. During their conversation, the Outreach Specialist spoke to him about prayer and how Muslims humble themselves before Allah in worship. This sparked Maxwell’s curiosity and opened the door to a deeper discussion about faith.
The Outreach Specialist explained that Muslims worship Allah alone and follow the guidance He sent through His prophets. He also spoke about Jesus (peace be upon him), explaining that Muslims love and respect him as a prophet and messenger of Allah. Maxwell became interested in learning more, especially about how Jesus prayed to God.

The Outreach Specialist explained that Jesus prayed to God and humbled himself before Him. This encouraged Maxwell to reflect on the relationship between Jesus and the One he worshipped. He began to consider the Islamic teaching that Jesus was a prophet who called people to worship Allah alone, rather than worshipping him as God.
The conversation helped Maxwell gain a new perspective on Jesus and the purpose of worship. As he understood more about the Islamic belief in the Oneness of Allah, his interest in Islam grew. Maxwell decided that he wanted to become a Muslim, and with the guidance of the Outreach Specialist, he took his Shahadah, beginning a new chapter in his life as a Muslim.
