It Is Never Too Late to Embrace Islam

As the day began, the street dawah outreach team visited Brother Masina, an elderly man living in Thyolo District. They met him at his home, where he welcomed them warmly. The Outreach Specialist explained that they had come to teach him about Islam and help him understand the beliefs of Muslims. This introduction opened the door to a meaningful conversation about faith and the purpose of life.

The Outreach Specialist explained that Allah created mankind with a purpose: to worship Him alone without associating any partners with Him. During the conversation, they discussed how some people believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) is God. This raised an important question in Masina’s mind: Do Muslims believe in Jesus? The Outreach Specialist explained that Muslims believe Jesus is one of Allah’s prophets and messengers, sent to guide people to worship Allah alone. Jesus did not call people to worship him as God.

This explanation made Masina reflect on his own beliefs. He realised that he had been among those who associated God with His prophet. The conversation helped him understand the Islamic belief about Allah’s Oneness and the status of Jesus (peace be upon him). As he began to understand these teachings, Masina became interested in embracing Islam.

Masina then expressed his desire to become Muslim but wondered whether he was too old to do so. The Outreach Specialist reassured him that Islam is open to everyone, regardless of age. Encouraged by this explanation, Brother Masina decided to embrace Islam and took his Shahadah
