What began as a brief conversation during his working day became a life-changing moment for Rogers.
When the iERA du’āt met him as he went about his work, they asked whether he could spare a few minutes for a conversation. Rogers welcomed their request and listened as they introduced the central message of Islam: belief in One God, Allah, who alone deserves worship.
The du’āt explained the signs of God’s existence and His oneness. They also spoke about how faith shapes a Muslim’s daily life, including praying five times a day and striving to uphold good character.
For Rogers, the conversation offered an opportunity to explore questions he had carried for some time. He shared that he had long admired the conduct of Muslims but had never had someone explain the oneness of God to him.

Rogers said he had understood his previous religious teaching to mean that there were three gods—a belief that had left him with unanswered questions. He explained that he had sought clarification from church leaders but had not received an explanation that resolved his uncertainty.
As the du’āt continued, Rogers listened attentively. Their explanation of worshipping One God resonated with him and brought clarity to the questions he had raised.
Convinced by the message, Rogers chose to embrace Islam. He recited the shahadah, the declaration of faith, and adopted the name Abdulkarim, marking the beginning of his journey as a Muslim.
His story is a reminder of the value of patient dialogue and making time for sincere questions. A few minutes offered in the middle of an ordinary working day became an opportunity for understanding—and a new beginning for Abdulkarim.
