In a candid interview, Brother Samuel, a student at Accra Technical University, shared his inspiring story of embracing Islam. The 22-year-old recounts how brothers from IERA Ghana (Islamic Education and Research Academy) shared the message of Islam with him on campus.
It was like a breath of fresh air,” Samuel said. “I had heard about Islam before, but I never really understood it. The brothers took the time to explain everything, and it just made sense.
Samuel was particularly drawn to the concept of Tawhid (the oneness of God).
The idea of one God, who is all-powerful and merciful, resonated with me,” he said. I realized that Islam is not just a religion, but a way of life that promotes peace, justice, and compassion.
As he learned more about Islam, Samuel began to see the world in a different light.
I started to understand the purpose of life, and the importance of accountability in the hereafter,” he said. “It was like a puzzle was being solved, and everything was falling into place.
Samuel’s decision to accept Islam was not taken lightly. He spent months reflecting on his newfound knowledge, and seeking guidance from the brothers at IERA Ghana.
I’m grateful for their patience and support,” he said. “They didn’t pressure me; they just shared the message and left it to me to decide.
Samuel’s story is a testament to the power of da’wah (calling others to Islam) and the impact it can have on individuals.
I’m proud to be a Muslim now,” he said with a smile. I see Islam as the true religion, and I’m committed to learning more and living by its principles.
