How a 57-Year-Old Christian Couple Found Islam

For 57 years, Jackson had lived with a single, unshakeable belief: that Jesus was God, the Creator of the universe. Born and raised in a Christian home, it was the only reality he had ever known. But on a sunny afternoon, a simple conversation with iERA Duat changed the trajectory of his life forever.

When the iERA team engaged Jackson in dialogue, they addressed his core belief with gentle clarity. They explained that while Jesus holds an elevated, revered position in faith, he was not God—rather, he was one of God’s noble messengers, sent to guide his people.

Jackson paused, visibly moved. “I have never heard that Jesus wasn’t God,” he admitted, his curiosity ignited. “I am learning something completely new today.”

Seizing the moment, the dawah carriers introduced Jackson to the GORAP methodology—a structured approach designed to guide seekers through fundamental truths.

As the dawah team walked him through how the Almighty God created the world and sent Jesus as a messenger of pure monotheism, the logical and spiritual pieces fell into place for Jackson.

“I have never received such thorough explanations concerning the truthfulness of Islam,” Jackson remarked, looking at the team with deep appreciation. “I have never seen any religion explain existence and faith the way Islam does.”

Beside him sat his wife, Enid. She had been listening quietly to every word, taking in the profound wisdom of the message. Smiling gently, she turned to her husband, nodded in full agreement, and said softly, “Let’s embrace Islam.”

With hearts united in understanding and belief, Jackson and Enid recited the Shahadah—the testimony of faith—declaring that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.

That day, two souls stepped into a new beginning: Jackson took the name Issa, honoring the very prophet whose true message had brought him to the truth, and Enid chose the name Aisha. Together, hand in hand, they walked away as brother and sister in Islam.
